Well as of 4th May 2013 we will be official homeschoolers! Such a weight off my shoulders to not have to worry about Peyton sitting in a classroom freaking out with his anxiety issues he seems to have. We can go at his pace although sometimes he needs some nudging!  I’m looking forward to our journey together and helping him be the best that he can be while learning myself about him and the way his mind works.Image

Sounds really exciting, I don’t have kids yet but whenever I think about the school system I wonder if it would be better if I home-schooled them myself. Do you worry about the lack of daily social interaction with other kids their age?

No don’t worry about socialisation at all and especially not with other children his own age. As an adult all of my friends are of a wide range of ages, I don’t jsut hang out with other 28/29 year olds so he also experiences socialisation with children of a wide age range. He crossfits with kids his age and much older and the older ones are a far better influence on him! He still regularly sees old friends from his kindy and we go to homeschool meet ups. Plus he has a four year old and nearly two year old brother who he chats to all day everyday!

Well that sounds great! Really applaud parents who take their children’s education seriously. Where I come from in South African my mother is a primary school teacher and she deals daily with parents who couldn’t care less about what their kids do in school, let alone actually adding to the quality of their education in any way. You have very fortunate children. I wish you all the best!
