Is it Sunday yet?

I love my boys with all my heart but this holiday can not come any sooner!!!

Today they were not my children – they were complete ferals. I have no idea where there behaviour came from today but it was the type of behaviour where you as a parent want to find a rock to hide under. They climbed up into a friend’s kitchen pantry to look for something to eat (where’s that damn rock to hide under!!!???), had tantrums, answered back.

So it was straight home for lunch and to bed for all three. Only the oldest fell asleep for an hour and a half. Middle son fought it and was a general right royal pain in the butt until official bed time. Dean and I are shattered!

Tomorrow is another day to start fresh and another day closer to getting on that plane!

Hello world

Well it’s been another busy few weeks/months!

Going through some bridezilla bullshit at the moment with work that will hopefully blow over due to my contract protecting me. It honestly gutted me so bad right to my heart as I work so hard on every job I do and it is my baby. Thankfully for me I have a great support network of family and friends, some of who are involved in the wedding world and photography who have told me to stick to my guns and hold my head high because it was their mistake and not mine. So we will see what happens with that!

Hunter started school a few weeks ago. He is getting there! His birthday party was pretty epic so think he is still coming down from the high of that. He is so beautiful and head strong that there have been a few clashes but nothing major. He is happy and that is what is most important. It is such a different journey for us as parents to what we did with Peyton but a good journey still.

Eli is just to smart for his own good. He’s currently sitting in a cardboard box colouring it in. He is my little Rembrandt. Think we might have to hit an art gallery soon to increase his love of art. He loves creating so much. Everyone I talk to and that has seen his drawings is always really impressed at the level he draws at for his age.

He misses the boys a bit during the day but we are loving it just the two of us together. He is also currently obsessed with Frozen. I found this great printable for him

so he can build his own snowman.

The Sunday just been was filled with beautiful people and friends and new friends made too at my good friend Tanya’s (owner of NZFINCH) baby shower. Nothing is cooler than a picnic baby shower in your backyard with the sun, great food and good friends. I won a bottle of Lindauer too so that’s always a bonus!

Six weeks until holiday time for Dean and I!!! Countdown is so on!

Right that’s the latest from me!

We love reading

Oh books how I love you! And so do my boys.

Most nights (there’s the odd one when it just gets too late or we get too busy!) we read bedtime stories. Having three boys we’ve read a tonne of books the past nearly seven years. Hunter and Eli are still into shorter simpler stories (cat in the hat etc) but Peyton has moved up a stage in where he can now read all of those ones aloud to himself. So the stories I read to him at night now are chapter books. We’ve read a lot of Roald Dahl ones last year. Dean bought a whole collection of them for $50 off a deal website. Ones to treasure always. We’re reading The Wishing Chair at the moment. The library is always our greatest resource of course and we book books online. I just bought 13 Goosebumps books off Trademe for $25. Score! Three arrived today in the post and he was very excited.

I am so glad they have a love of books and reading. It will take them far in life. I can’t wait to read more adventures with my sons, especially books I grew up with. Stuart Little to Harry Potter we will read them all.

Raise your arms Maurice! It’s more fun when you raise your arms like this!

If you’ve got kids or seen Madagascar 2 then you get the title ha ha!

There is a fun day event that lasts 4 days and happens every year at the Alexandra Raceway and it’s completely free!!!. I find out about it every year too late and always think ah well next year. Found out about it this year on opening day at 8.30am. “GET DRESSED! GET SHOES! WE’RE GOING OUT IN 15 MINUTES!”

Got there just after 9am and off we headed, small crowd, no queues pretty much and especially not for the rides my boys wanted to do. The bigger two braved the Ferris Wheel, Crazy circus fun house, big bouncy slide and climb. All four of us went on the rockin’ tugboat ride. Then it started to rain – heavy! Bad mummy didn’t grab the umbrella out the car or bring any jackets oops! So we ran to the marquee and they waited patiently while I went and grabbed a bag of hot mini donuts. Another mad dash back to the car and home for a movie day.

Sunday morning we were spontaneous again and all five of us went this time. Did all the same rides as last time and more. Teacups this time, and I was so excited that Hunter and Peyton went on the sizzler with me as that is pretty intense for kids who have never been on a fast or slightly scary ride before. We all went on the rockin tugboat again and I got them to raise their arms (except Hunter his BFF was the bar to hold on too). None of them were keen for the one that went up in the sky though! Ah well next year!

Best mornings ever!

Resolutions

Well Christmas day went fairly well – slight family feud in the morning but the rest of the day was great. All spoiled and filled up our tummies with delicious food. Shattered kids. Good memories.

We have spent a bit of time with my father and let’s just say that public places make interactions less awkward. Less pressure etc I think to have to make conversation and interact. We’ve been to Wynyard Quarter where Boo picked up scootering very quickly. We are going to the zoo tomorrow sun or rain! Love our zoo pass and the flexibility it brings with having young children! Then he flys back to the Gold Coast on New Years eve at midday.

No plans for the New Year yet but we have plans and I have resolutions and goals.

The standard weight loss get fit one is top of my list. I’ve put back on 5kg – mostly in my stomach area and butt! I’ve been lazy as when it comes to eating healthy this year especially the past 6 months and exercise went out the window. I need to be healthy for me and for the boys and Dean.

Second is for me to be a more positive person. A lot of my issues with that stem from my childhood. There wasn’t any physical abuse as such but there was a lot of negativity in our house which can be a hard attitude to break.

3rd focus is on Photography. Peyton and Hunter will be at school 9-3 and Eli will start kindy hopefully midyear. This leaves me more time to offer photography during the day and build up a better clientele. I have so many ideas running through my head (and all over my pinterest!) that I want to try so this is the year!
